Today we headed south to Florence with a very important tourist stop at the Leaning Tower or Pisa. Asking travelers the city of Pisa gets mixed reviews. Some say that it is imperative you stay a few days and get to know the neglected city. Others say a few hours is all you need, and we went this route as a few hours is all we had to give.
After dropping our stuff off we set out down the street for our fifteen minute walk to this architectural wonder. Upon arrival we did the tourist thing. We took a bunch of pictures of hitting the tower, holding it up and I think Erica even tried to Kung-fu chop the thing. After the initial excitement wore off we took a stroll around the area as a ticket up costs about 17euro, waaaayyy too much.

A view of the town on our walk
We opted to visit a few other sites instead of heading to the train station. Campo Santo Monumentale was the first stop, Jamie likes dead stuff. I think I was the one who took the longest to get through the site. There were so many interesting tombs, statues and frescos that it took me a long time to get my fill. It was also one of those rare tourists sites that wasn't overrun so you could stop and look at things and sometimes be by yourself down a hall way. Quite enjoyable all the way around.

The Cemetary, not like those at home....

The Duomo
We also stopped by the Duomo. I can't really think of anything to say about this particular Duomo. It was a church. It was really really big and pretty.
We arrived in Florence in the evening and found our hostel easy enough. We settled in for the night after a trip to the market as we had a big day planned for tomorrow. A trip to see David.
