The tourist money grabber I picked were the three pagodas a few kilometers north of Dali. It was cool I guess. I wasn't particularly overcome by its awesomeness or dissapointed by walking around there. The pagodas took all of 20 minutes to sufficiently gawk at and photograph. However behind the pagodas was a large temple compound that due to the income from those pricey pagodas was well taken care of.
I then spent the rest of the afternoon climbing up the hill taking pictures of all sorts of statues and buildings. I am sure it will happen on this trip but I am waiting for temples and such to get old. I am sure they will but as of now I have fun taking pictures and enjoying the colors used in the buildings and statues.

These are a few pictures from a room at the temple compound, well a few of them that housed maybe a hundred buddhas all in different poses....it was a bit scary to be in the alone....these are a few of the more entertaining ones.
