Day 108 Malaga Cathedrals and Picasso

Since we couldn't get a decent hostel in Granada we took a detour to the southern town of Malaga. From what I put together it is a beach town and when the weather is a bit colder and they get a bi of rain it seems as though the city doesn't know what to do with itself.

On our first day we went with another traveler to a cathedral that had a free audio tour that I thought was great. So many times do I walk around places understanding little that is represented in the architecture and such because the signs are in Spanish.

After thouroughly seeing the sight we grabbed some food and headed off ot the Museo Picasso Malaga, as Malaga is the birthplace of Picasso. A bit dissapointed to see that more that half of the Picasso rooms were closed at the moment, something that I have seen happening in many places. I guess that is what you get for going right before tourist season starts.

Seeing the few paintings was kind of more of a let down than the museum being entirely closed. The silver lining was the special exhibit. A large exhibition of Frantisek Kupka. His paintings had the same varied approaches and most had lots of colors. I have to say that I came out really liking Kupka and hoping to come across him more as museum hop through Europe.

On the walk home I found this advert in tile....I think more companies should make this move.......much nicer than a poster.
